As it has been demonstrated time and again, following proper health & safety protocols can mean the difference between life and death. Take the story of the Nostromo as an example. If Kane had kept his distance from the foreign pods aboard the derelict alien ship on LV-426, the Nostromo’s crew would not have been compromised. If Captain Dallas hadn’t ordered Ripley to allow he, Kane and Lambert to re-enter the ship, the Nostromo’s crew would not have been compromised. If Ash hadn’t opened the door to let them to re-enter, the Nostromo’s crew would not have been compromised.

But it all starts with the simple imperative: maintain a safe social distance. Your life and the life of your crew may depend on it.
